Express Entry Checklist

This is an initial checklist for submitting an express entry (EE) applications. We may request additional documents based on the need for your application and current requirements.
Creating an Express Entry (EE) Profile #
IRCC does not need any documents uploaded to create a EE profile. However, we need these to validate and verify information before submitting the profile.
- [] Valid Passport – all biography, signature pages and pages with any visa and stamps (if applicable).
- [] Complete the Applicant Details Form at YCI.co website
- [] Complete the Family Information Form at YCI.co website
- [] Language Test Scores taken within the last 2 years
- [] Proof of Canadian Education (if applicable) We need certificates and transcripts (both) for all study programs completed in Canada
- [] Education Credential Assessment (ECA) report (if applicable) We need the ECA report if you want to claim points for education completed outside of Canada.
- [] Provincial Nomination (if you have one)
- [] Details of available funds (for FSWC)
- [] Written valid job offer from an employer in Canada (if you have one)
- [] Details of skilled work experience
- [] Certificate of qualification in a trade occupation issued by a Canadian province or territory (if applicable)
The ECA report must be for immigration purpose. IRCC does not accept reports issued for academic purpose (e.g. course by course assessment). The report must be dated within the last 5 years.
PR Application Submission #
We don’t need these documents until we get an invitation to apply for PR.

- [] Proof of funds For Federal Skilled Worker Program and Federal Skilled Trades Program. Funds must be available when you apply and when IRCC issues a PR.

- [] Proof of skilled work experience We need below listed documents for the applicant (both inside and outside Canada) and dependent spouse (if claiming work experience in Canada)
- We need employment/joining letters
- all pay stubs or salary certificates
- reference or experience letter satisfying below:
- should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company); and
- should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits.
- If the work experience is in Canada, we also need:
- copies of T4, notice of assessment (NOAs)
- [] Proof of relationship to a relative in Canada and their immigration status (if applicable)
- [] Proof of legal name change or aliases (if applicable)
- [] Current and past immigration records and permits

Dependent Children #
Definition of Dependent Child under section 2 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations: (i) is less than 22 years of age and is not a spouse or common-law partner, or (ii) is 22 years of age or older and has depended substantially on the financial support of the parent since before attaining the age of 22 years and is unable to be financially self-supporting due to a physical or mental condition.

This will allow us to digitally insert your signature, saving trees and time. Alternatively, you may decide to manually sign the application forms and send us scan or paper copies.
