DLI Admission Checklist
2 min read
Most colleges in Ontario do not accept over five years of gap.
Different DLIs have different documents requirements. Below are the most common requirements we observed. We can find your DLI specific requirements once we work on your application. DLIs make admission decisions independently. We cannot influence or speed up the decision-making process of colleges and universities.

a. IELTS Academic, PTE, Duolingo, CAEL, TOEFL etc. (IELTS GT Not accepted)b. Some DLIs require the scores to be valid when classes start, while some require the scores to be valid at the time of application submission.
We don’t encourage language conditional admissions due to significantly high refusal risk.
For each degree or diploma program, we need:
- All semester mark sheets, consolidated mark sheets not accepted.
- Degree or diploma certificates.
Must list the number of backlogs in each semester and the number of attempts. If there were no backlogs, the number of backlogs would then be 0.
These could include a work experience letter with a last drawn (last month) pay slip. We recommend including all experience letters from past studies completion.

You may need to mail official transcripts and graduation certificates to the DLI for assessment of this application or after an admissions decision is made. Please ensure that you provide these documents in a sealed envelope directly from the issuing institution: DLI will not accept them if they cannot confirm their authenticity.
Some DLIs may accept official transcripts over email. When sending through email, no other party should be in cc. It must be directly from the issuing institution’s official email to the receiving institution’s official email.
Some DLIs might consider this requirement fulfilled if the home university verifies the credentials online or submits a WES ICAP report along with the application.
Some universities may ask this in a prescribed format, such as a ‘1-page cover letter’. DO NOT submit generic statements. These must be your unique work tailored to a specific DLI and program.
Some universities may require formal reference letters on official letterheads. Some universities may ask for a mix of academic and professional references.
For programs that require supervisors, the student is responsible for contacting, communicating, and securing supervisor approval for the admission process.
